Connecting worlds and creating futures on Common Ground
The World Expo is a global stage where countries come together to imagine and shape the future. Celebrated every 5 years, these events have long been platforms for showcasing groundbreaking innovations, pioneering ideas, and cross-border collaboration. Expo 2025 Osaka is no exception. It’s a moment to pause, reflect, and reimagine how we live, work, and care for our planet, together.
At a time when the world faces interconnected challenges, World Expos offer a unique opportunity for countries to unite, inspire one another, and develop real solutions. It’s about collective energy, shared insights, creativity, and courage, all aimed at building a better future for generations to come.
At Expo 2025, the Netherlands joins the world in Osaka to exchange ideas and spark new ones. Our message is clear: global challenges cannot be solved in isolation. Only by coming together on common ground can we develop meaningful answers.
Through innovative thinking and cross-cultural partnerships, we aim to accelerate the transition to a sustainable, circular future. The Netherlands pavilion is a place for inspiration and exchange, where international visitors are invited to engage with Dutch innovations and collaborate on solutions for tomorrow.
Our pavilion in Osaka is more than a building. It’s a vision made real. Designed as a fully circular structure, it serves as both a space and a statement. Every component used in its construction has been identified, registered, and documented in Madaster, making the pavilion a material depot and a bank for future reuse. Nothing is wasted and everything has value.
At its heart is a stunning architectural feature with a “man-made” sun. Symbolising a new dawn, it represents a future powered by clean, unlimited energy and global cooperation. Visitors will experience the pivotal role energy plays in our lives and how innovative solutions can help us move away from fossil fuels and toward a circular energy system, one where finite materials are used wisely, and infinite sources like the sun, wind, and water power our world.
